  • Start by giving us a few basic details
  • We’ll send you an email within three working days, including a unique code to share with your friend or family member
  • Once they’ve taken out a new product with the Society, we’ll reward you both with £25 Love2Shop gift card– it really is as easy as that!

How will my friend give you the code?

When they are filling in their application there will a question asking ‘how did you hear about us?’ If they select ‘Recommendation’ from the drop down box and then asked ‘From whom’ they enter your unique code.

Q.1 What is the Unite a Friend scheme?

By introducing Unity Mutual to a friend or family member, you’ll both be rewarded with a £25 Love2Shop gift card when they take out a product with us.

Q.2 When can I recommend a friend?

Absolutely anytime! If you’re a Member of Unity Mutual, you can also recommend that your friends consider becoming a Member too.

Q.3 Can I refer more than one friend?

Of course! The more the merrier; there’s no limit to how many friends you can recommended.

Q.4 Will my friends be eligible for the scheme?

In most cases, yes. Be aware that your friend can’t already be a Member of Unity Mutual, though. To receive the gift card, they’ll have to apply for one of our products. Each product is subject to its own terms and conditions.

Q.5 When will we receive our £25 Love2Shop gift card?

We will send you and your friend a £25 gift card each and within just 90 days of your friend’s plan going live. This is providing all the terms and conditions have been met.

Q.6 How does my friend apply?

Depending on the product they’re applying for and how they prefer to apply, they can either fill out an application online, request a form to complete and return to us by post or call one of our team who can do this with them on the phone – simply visit https://www.unitymutual.co.uk/savings-for-you/ for more information.

Q.7 Will my friend need to apply straight away?

No, your code will be valid for as long as the Unite a Friend initiatives is running.

Q.8 What should I do if I don’t receive my code?

Please be aware that it can take up to three working days for your code to be sent. Then, simply check your email spam folder. If the email isn’t there, you can either email us at sales@unitymutual.co.uk or give us a call on 0161 214 4628. We’ll then look into it for you.

Q.9 Can I call to get a code?

Of course. Just call us on 0161 2144 628 and we can set this up for you over the phone.

Q.10 Can I use my code more than once?

Yes, the code is unique to you and you can use it to refer as many friends as you like.

Q.11 Where do I find my member number?

Your member number will be listed on any communication that you receive from us – just check your latest statement or original plan documents.

Q.12 Does my friend need to set up any Direct Debits or pay a certain amount of money in to qualify for the £25 Love2Shop gift card?

Yes, this will depend on the product they are opening.  You can find more details here.  

Q.13 I’ve lost my Love2Shop gift card; can you send me another one?

Unfortunately, we’re unable to track if a gift card has been used; if you misplace or lose your gift card, we will not be able to reissue it.

Q.14 Why didn’t I qualify for the reward?

There could be several reasons why your recommendation hasn’t gone through; it may not have met the terms and conditions of the offer, including:

  • Your friend didn’t take out a product with us
  • They were already a member of Unity Mutual
  • They cancelled their plan in the first three months
  • Your friend forgot to use your unique code on their application
  • Your unique code was issued after your friend’s application was received.
  • They did not meet the minimum contribution levels for the product taken out
Q.15 Does my friend need to set up any Direct Debits or pay a certain amount of money in to qualify for the £25 Love2Shop gift card?

Yes it will depend on the product they take out. Please see the table below:
